How to Check Which Mods Use Cardinal Components on Your World
Why You'd Want to Know
Cardinal Components API is a library, so it doesn't add anything you can see on its own. Any custom data you notice in your world — extra tooltips, hidden mob stats, per-chunk flags, player-specific counters — is coming from another mod that depends on Cardinal Components. Knowing which mods use it helps you troubleshoot when something behaves oddly after removing or updating a mod.
Finding the Dependents
1. Open your mod list (the in-game
mod menu, or your launcher's mod browser).
2. Look for any mod whose description mentions "requires Cardinal Components" or lists it as a dependency.
3. Cross-reference with the crash report or log file if you're debugging: mods that fail to load will often cite a missing cardinal-components component class.
4. In-game, hover over items and mobs that seem to carry unusual data. If a tooltip shows a custom field that isn't from vanilla, that mod is almost certainly using Cardinal Components to attach it.
What to Do With This Info
If you plan to remove a mod that uses Cardinal Components, back up the world first. The component data it stored on your player, chunks, or entities may be orphaned, and some dependent mods will refuse to load without the library present. Keep Cardinal Components installed as long as any dependent mod remains in your pack.
