Pack and Move Your First Block

Packing a Block

Cardboard boxes let you pick up any tile entity—chests, furnaces, machines—and move it elsewhere without losing its contents or settings.

To pack a block:

1. Stand next to the block you want to move

2. Hold Sneak (default: Shift)

3. Right-click the block

4. The block disappears and you receive a cardboard box in your inventory

The box holds everything: all items inside, fuel, progress, configuration, redstone connections—everything is preserved.

Placing the Block Again

To unpack and place it:

1. Hold the cardboard box

2. Right-click on the ground where you want it

3. The block reappears with all its contents intact

If you place it by mistake, simply left-click the box to remove it and pick it back up. You can carry multiple boxes at once, making it easy to reorganize entire sections of your base or move machines between locations without any loss.
