Preserve Named and Tamed Pets When Relocating

Why Nets Protect Your Pets

Unlike leads or boats, capture nets remember every detail about your animals—their custom names, tamed status, colors, and even age. This makes them ideal for moving beloved pets without losing their identity.

Capturing Your Named Pet

1. Find your named pet in the world.

2. Hold an empty net and right-click on the animal to capture it.

3. Check the net's hover text to confirm the pet's name appears. This verifies the capture was successful.

4. Travel to your new location with the net in your inventory.

5. Right-click on a solid block to release your pet. It will spawn with its original name, tame status, and any custom dye colors intact.

Safety Notes

  • The net holds only one creature, so if you have multiple named pets, capture each one separately.
  • Tamed wolves, colored sheep, and named horses all retain their properties perfectly.
  • The hover text always shows you exactly what you're carrying before release.
