Managing Cape Visibility, Keybinds and Conflicts

Rebinding the cape key

If pressing N does nothing, another mod or a vanilla function has taken that key. Go to Options → Controls → Key Binds, find the mod's category, and assign a free key. Avoid keys already used for inventory, chat or common mod menus, since those are the usual culprits.

Toggling cape rendering

If you want to hide capes entirely, for performance or preference, look for the mod's client config. Cape rendering can typically be turned off there, which stops the mod drawing capes on any player. This is useful on low-end machines or when a cape texture is causing visual noise.

Resolving conflicts

Capes may not render if another mod also controls the cape layer or player model. If your cape vanishes only when a specific other mod is present, that is a rendering conflict rather than a problem with your selection. Try disabling the other mod's cape-related feature, or check its config for a cape toggle. Also verify your cape is still selected after changing mods, since some config resets can clear the choice.
