How to Use Campfire Spawns in the Nether and End

Why Campfires Beat Beds

Beds explode in the Nether and End, so they cannot be used as respawn points there. A lit campfire works in every dimension, including the Nether, the End, and modded dimensions. This makes it the reliable way to set a respawn point far from your main base.

Setting Up in the Nether

Place a campfire on solid ground in a safe spot, then light it with flint & steel. The spawn point is created on top of the campfire. Because you receive fire resistance when you respawn there, you get a brief window to move away from lava or fire. Build a small platform around the campfire so you do not respawn over a drop or into lava.

Setting Up in the End

The same process applies in the End. Place and light a campfire on a stable surface, ideally on the main island or a built platform. The mod clears blocks above the campfire on respawn, so you will not suffocate if something ends up over it. Keep the campfire lit; an unlit campfire will not bring you back.

Managing Multiple Dimensions

You can have campfire spawn points in several dimensions at once. Only the most recently set one is your active respawn, so relight the campfire in the dimension you want to return to before taking risky trips.
