Break Bedrock Safely

Prepare Before You Mine

Before attempting to break bedrock, ensure you have:

• Your Yeeterite pickaxe in hand
• Blocks or scaffolding to stand on
• A clear understanding of where the void is below

Never mine bedrock while standing directly above it without support, as you could fall through.

Mine Bedrock Blocks

Locate bedrock you want to break—typically found at the bottom of caves or in the nether. Use your Yeeterite pickaxe to mine it like any other block. The bedrock will break and drop as an item.

Know the Limit

The absolute lowest layer of bedrock in your world cannot be broken, even with a Yeeterite pickaxe. This is intentional and prevents you from falling into the void. You can break bedrock above this final layer freely.
