Using Break Free to Chain-Mine Without Losing Progress

Why chaining works now

Normally, if you tap a block, switch items, then come back, the game treats each attempt as a fresh start. Break Free removes the reset that happens on item switch, so the break timer keeps counting as long as you keep attacking the same block. That lets you move between tools mid-break without throwing away the work you already did.

A practical chaining routine

1. Start breaking a block with your fastest available tool for that material.

2. While still holding attack, switch to a second tool or item.

3. Continue holding attack on the same block until it pops.

4. Immediately move your crosshair to the next block and keep holding attack to begin the next break without re-clicking.

This is handy in tight mining tunnels where you want to keep momentum, and in combat-adjacent situations where you might swap to a weapon and back. A few things to remember: the mod does not let you break blocks faster than your current tool allows, it does not bypass tool requirements for drops, and it does not change reach distance. If you switch to an item that cannot mine the block at all, you will simply keep swinging with no progress — the mod preserves the timer, it does not grant mining ability.
