How to Use BoxLib Keybinding Helpers to Register and Rebind Keys

BoxLib offers keybinding helpers so mods can register their own hotkeys through a consistent path. As a player, this means you manage those keys in the standard Controls menu alongside vanilla bindings.

Finding a Mod's Keybinds

1. Open Options, then Controls, then Key Binds.

2. Scroll to the category matching the mod that uses BoxLib's keybinding helpers. Mods typically group their keys under their own name.

3. Click the key entry and press the key you want to assign. Press Escape to clear a binding.

Conflicts

If a key is already used, the menu highlights the conflict in red. Resolve it by picking a different key for one of the two actions. BoxLib registers keys through the standard system, so conflict detection works exactly as it does for vanilla keys.

In-Game Use

Once bound, the key fires the mod's action whenever you press it in the world or in a relevant screen, depending on how the mod registered it. Some keys are context-sensitive: they only do something while a particular GUI is open.

Tips

  • If a mod's keys do not appear, the mod may not have registered them yet, or it may use a different input path.
  • Rebinding is safe at any time; changes save when you leave the Controls menu.
