Create Your First Custom Quest
Access the Quest Editor
Open your inventory and locate the task book button. Look for the editor option in the quest menu—this opens the in-game editor where you can build custom quests without leaving Minecraft.
Set Up a Basic Quest
1. Create a new quest by selecting the option to add a task
2. Give your quest a clear name and description so players understand the goal
3. Choose a quest type: item collection, mob defeat, experience gain, or potion effect
4. If collecting items, specify which items and how many are needed
5. If defeating mobs, select the mob type and quantity required
Configure Rewards
Once the objective is set, add rewards that players receive upon completion:
- Grant specific items from your inventory
- Award experience points
- Execute custom commands for advanced rewards
Organize and Test
Place your quest into a category so it appears organized in the quest menu. Test the quest yourself by attempting to complete it, then use /boundless reset to clear your progress and verify it works correctly for other players.
