How to Disable or Tune Fall Damage Protection on Beds

Toggling the Setting

Open the Bouncier Beds config file in your config folder. Find bedsPreventFallDamage. Setting it to true keeps you safe when you land on a bed from any height. Setting it to false restores normal fall damage, so a high bounce onto a bed can hurt or kill you.

Why You Might Change It

  • Keep it true for casual trampoline parks and safe high-altitude bouncing.
  • Set it false for challenge maps, parkour, or survival servers where danger matters.
  • Pair a disabled setting with lower bedBounciness so falls stay survivable.

Balancing With Bounce Strength

Fall damage protection and bounce height work together. If you disable protection but leave bounciness very high, players will die on landing. Lower the bounciness value first, then test a jump from your tallest platform. Remember that protection only applies when you actually land on a bed, not on the ground beside it, so build landing pads carefully. Save the config and reload the world to apply your changes, and re-test after every edit.
