Using XP Bottles to Share Experience With Other Players

The Idea

Because bottled XP is just an item, you can hand it to another player, trade it, or drop it in a shared chest. This makes the mod useful on multiplayer servers well beyond death protection.

How to Share XP

1. Sneak and right-click with an empty glass bottle to convert your XP into an enchantment bottle. Remember this costs you a little health.

2. Give the bottle to your friend directly, or place it in a chest you both use.

3. Your friend uses the bottle to absorb the stored experience and gain the levels.

Practical Uses

  • Helping new players: Bottle some of your spare XP and hand it over so a friend can enchant gear sooner.
  • Paying for services: Use filled bottles as currency for trades, builds, or favors.
  • Pooling resources: On a group base, keep a communal chest of XP bottles that anyone can draw from for enchanting sessions.

Cautions

  • Each bottling costs you health, so do not drain yourself in the middle of a fight.
  • XP bottles are items, so they can be lost if you carry them into lava or a void death — store them safely.
  • The exact amount of XP a bottle holds depends on how much you had when you bottled it, so a bottle made at level 30 is worth far more than one made at level 2.

Coordinate with your servermates so nobody accidentally drinks a bottle meant for someone else.
