Storing and Reclaiming Your XP After Death

Why Bottle XP at All

The whole point of this mod is to stop losing your hard-earned experience when you die. Instead of dropping it on the ground where it can despawn or be lost in lava, you convert it into a portable, storable item ahead of time.

The Safe Routine

1. Before heading into dangerous territory (caves, the Nether, boss fights), sneak and right-click with an empty glass bottle to bank your XP.

2. Drop the filled enchantment bottle into an ender chest or a chest at your base. Ender chests are ideal because the bottle stays with you across dimensions.

3. Go do your dangerous thing. If you die, your banked XP is untouched.

Reclaiming It

When you want your levels back, you drink or use the enchantment bottle the same way you would a bottle o' enchanting — it returns the stored experience to you. Keep in mind the small damage cost applies only at the moment of bottling, not when you reclaim it.

Tips

  • Bottle in batches before big trips rather than all at once, so a single mistake does not cost you everything.
  • Keep a few empty bottles in your ender chest so you can bottle on the spot.
  • If you play with keepInventory on, bottling is less critical, but it is still handy for moving XP between bases or sharing it with friends.
