How to Bottle Your XP Into an Enchantment Bottle

Getting Ready

You do not need a crafting table for this. All you need is at least one empty glass bottle in your inventory and some experience points built up. Empty glass bottles are the same ones used for brewing potions, so if you already brew, you likely have a stack ready.

Bottling the XP

1. Hold the empty glass bottle in your main hand.

2. Make sure you are sneaking/crouching (hold the sneak key).

3. Right-click while sneaking.

If you right-click without sneaking, nothing happens — the sneak requirement is what triggers the conversion. When it works, your accumulated XP is drained and an enchantment bottle appears in your inventory (or is dropped if your inventory is full).

What to Expect

  • The action hurts you slightly each time, because bottling raw XP is not painless. By default this damage is enabled and is a small fraction of a heart, but it can be turned off or adjusted in the config.
  • You can repeat the process as long as you have empty bottles and XP to spare.
  • Store the filled bottles in chests like any other item. They survive your death, so your XP is safe even if you are not.

If nothing happens when you sneak and right-click, check that the bottle is truly empty and that you actually have XP to bottle.
