Fixing Alt-Tab and Multi-Monitor Problems with Borderless Fullscreen
Why Borderless Helps Here
Vanilla fullscreen takes exclusive control of your display, which is why alt-tabbing causes a long black flicker and why the game can shove all your other windows around on a multi-monitor setup. Borderless fullscreen runs the game as a borderless window sized to your screen, so the operating system treats it like any other window. That means instant alt-tab and no monitor reshuffling.
Steps to Get Smooth Switching
1. Enable borderless fullscreen through the video settings toggle or the fullscreen hotkey.
2. Open a second window (a browser or chat app) and alt-tab to it, then back. The transition should be immediate with no resolution change.
3. On multi-monitor setups, drag your cursor off the edge of the game screen. If the cursor is trapped, you are still in exclusive fullscreen — toggle fullscreen off and on again.
4. If the game window covers your taskbar and you want it visible, switch to windowed mode and resize, or use the mod's display controls to adjust how the window sits on screen.
If alt-tab still stutters, check that your operating system's fullscreen optimizations are not fighting the mod, and confirm only one fullscreen mod is active at a time.
