You installed Blur Plus expecting blurred menus, but the background still looks plain. This is a common situation and usually has a simple cause. Work through these checks.
Confirm the Mod Is Actually Running
1. Make sure you launched the correct game profile — the one that has Blur Plus installed.
2. Check your mods list to confirm Blur Plus appears and is enabled.
3. Verify the mod matches your Minecraft version; a mismatched version often loads but does nothing.
Check for Conflicts and Settings
- Open the Blur Plus options and confirm the blur toggle is on and the strength is not at zero.
- Look for other mods that change GUI rendering, shaders, or interface backgrounds. These can override or hide the blur.
- If you use a resource pack that replaces GUI textures, try disabling it temporarily to see if the blur returns.
- Restart the game after any change, since GUI rendering settings sometimes only apply on a fresh launch.
Still Nothing?
Test on a fresh world or the main menu, since some in-game screens behave differently. If the blur shows on the main menu but not elsewhere, a conflicting interface mod is the likely culprit. Disable suspects one at a time to isolate it.
