How to Enable and Adjust the GUI Blur Effect in Blur Plus

The Blur Plus mod blurs the background behind every GUI menu so the interface looks cleaner and menu elements stand out. If you just installed it and nothing looks different, or you want to fine-tune the effect, this guide walks you through it.

Turning the Blur On and Choosing a Strength

1. Launch Minecraft with the mod loaded and open the main menu.

2. Go to Options, then look for the Blur Plus (or GUI Blur) settings section. Depending on your setup it may sit under a dedicated mod options button or inside the standard video/accessibility options.

3. Find the toggle that enables the blurred GUI background and make sure it is turned on.

4. Locate the blur strength slider. Move it to a low value for a subtle haze, or higher for a heavier, frosted-glass look. The change previews live behind the menu, so you can judge it immediately.

5. Close the options screen to save your choice.

If the Blur Does Not Appear

  • Confirm the mod is actually loaded for the profile you launched.
  • Check that no other interface or shader mod is overriding GUI rendering.
  • Restart the game after changing the setting if the effect does not refresh.

Once enabled, the blur applies automatically to menus like inventory, settings, and pause screens without further input.
