How to Get the Most Out of Blue's Better Zombies in Survival
Set Up for Close Encounters
This pack shines when you actually look at zombies, so play in a way that puts them in view. Fight at melee range instead of sniping from afar, and let a few zombies approach before striking so you can see the improved walk and attack animations. At night, keep torches sparse around your base so zombies emerge from shadow rather than being lit up the moment they spawn.
Use Lighting and Distance
Higher-resolution textures and detailed shading read best in moderate light — full daylight washes out the extra detail, while pitch darkness hides it. Carry a torch or use a low-light source when clearing caves so you can appreciate the model without losing visibility. In open areas, watch zombies from a short distance to catch the smoother limb movement the pack adds.
Remember It Is Cosmetic Only
Blue's Better Zombies changes models, textures, and animations — nothing else. Zombie health, damage, speed, and spawning behave exactly as vanilla, so do not expect a harder fight from this pack alone. If you want a scarier survival experience to match the new look, combine it with a separate gameplay mod that alters zombie stats or AI. Keep the pack near the top of your load order so other packs do not overwrite the zombie, and reload with F3 + T after changes.
