The Problem With Vanilla Textures
In the Nether, ancient debris shares a similar reddish-brown palette with netherrack and other blocks, so it is easy to confuse at a glance, especially in low light or when you are moving fast. This pack replaces that texture with a vibrant light blue, giving you an instant visual cue.
Quick Identification Steps
- Scan for the light blue color first. If a block is blue and embedded in netherrack, it is almost certainly ancient debris.
- Check the block's shape: ancient debris has a distinct rough, pitted look. The blue recolor keeps that shape but changes the hue, so shape plus color together confirm it.
- Do not confuse it with blue ice or other naturally blue blocks; those do not generate in the Nether, so any blue block you find while mining there is your target.
- If you are unsure, hover over the block or break one block to confirm before committing to a large dig.
Practical Use
Once you can identify it instantly, you can plan your tunnels around confirmed veins instead of digging blindly. This saves durability on your pickaxe and reduces wasted time.
