How to Make Ancient Debris Easier to Spot While Mining

Why the Blue Color Helps

Ancient Debris normally blends into the dark reds and browns of the Nether. With this resource pack installed, the block is recolored to a bright light blue, which stands out sharply against netherrack, basalt, and blackstone. This makes it much harder to accidentally mine past a vein.

Mining Tips

  • Bring plenty of blocks to pillar up and a fire resistance potion, since you will still be working near lava.
  • Mine in straight tunnels at the usual debris-hunting heights and sweep your view left and right as you go. The blue tint catches the corner of your eye faster than the vanilla texture.
  • When you spot a blue block, mark it with a torch or a distinctive block before digging around it, so you do not lose track of the vein in the dark.
  • Use night vision or place torches generously; the light blue reads best under good lighting.
  • If you use beds or TNT to blast-mine, the blue color still helps you confirm what dropped and where the remaining vein sits.

After You Find It

Remember the pack only changes the appearance of ancient debris. Smelting and crafting behave exactly as normal, so you can proceed with your usual netherite workflow once you have collected the blocks.
