How to Make Your Paths and Roads Actually Speed You Up
Why Your Paths Feel Slow
Block Runner makes your movement speed depend on the block under your feet. If you built a dirt path or a gravel road and it still feels like walking on grass, the block you used probably isn't configured to give a boost. The mod ships with sensible defaults (path blocks are the classic example), but any block or block tag can be tuned.
Steps to Get a Working Fast Road
1. Decide on a road material. Path blocks are the intended default, but stone bricks, planks, or any block you like can work if configured.
2. Lay a continuous strip of that block. Speed is checked per-block beneath you, so gaps of grass or dirt will drop you back to normal speed mid-run.
3. Open the mod's config (via the mod menu on Fabric, or the config file) and find the block or block tag entry for your chosen material.
4. Set its speed multiplier above the default. Higher values mean faster running; keep it reasonable so corners don't fling you off.
5. Save, reload the world if needed, and sprint along the road to confirm the boost.
Tips
- Use block tags instead of single blocks if you want a whole family (e.g. all stone variants) to be fast.
- Test with and without a horse — the boost applies to mounts too, so a fast road is also a fast bridleway.
