Fixing Paths That Don't Give a Speed Boost
Diagnose the Problem
If your path blocks aren't speeding you up, the cause is almost always one of: the block isn't configured, the config didn't load, or you're not actually standing on the block. Work through these in order.
Check the Block and Config
1. Confirm the block under you is the one you configured. Press F3 and read the block you're standing on — a path block is not the same as a dirt path made of other materials.
2. Open the config and verify the block or its tag has a speed entry above default.
3. Make sure you saved the config. Some setups require a world reload or game restart for changes to apply.
4. If you edited a tag, confirm the block actually belongs to that tag.
Check the World
1. Look for gaps. A single grass tile in the middle of your road kills the boost for that step.
2. Check for slabs, stairs, or carpets on top of the road — you may be standing on those instead of the fast block.
3. Test on a flat, unbroken stretch to rule out terrain issues.
Still Stuck?
- Remove any conflicting entries for the same block or tag.
- Try a different known-fast block to confirm the mod itself is working.
- Re-check that the mod is enabled for the world you're testing in.
