Configuring Custom Block Speeds with the Mod Menu
Opening the Config
On Fabric, install Mod Menu so Block Runner appears in the mod list with a config button. Click it to open the settings screen. If you're on a loader or version without in-game config, edit the config file directly in your instance's config folder.
What You Can Change
- Per-block speed: assign a multiplier to a specific block ID so running over it is faster or slower than default.
- Per-tag speed: apply a multiplier to an entire block tag, which is handy for modded stone, wood, or custom road sets.
- Default speed: the baseline used for any block you haven't configured.
Practical Steps
1. Note the exact block ID you want to tune (check F3 or your mod's block list).
2. Add an entry for that block, or for a tag it belongs to.
3. Enter a multiplier. Values just above default give a gentle nudge; much higher values make roads feel like ice-boat tracks.
4. Apply and save, then walk the block in-game to verify.
5. If a block feels wrong, remove its entry to fall back to the default.
Cautions
- Overlapping block and tag entries can conflict — decide which should win.
- Very high multipliers can make steering difficult, especially on horseback.
