Getting Started with Bits and Balance

Overview

Bits and Balance Mod makes survival gameplay smoother through quality-of-life improvements and new building options. The mod doesn't add major new systems—instead, it refines existing mechanics across combat, building, potions, and menus.

Key Features to Know

Building: Quarter blocks and vertical slabs let you create more detailed structures. Azalea wood blocks are now available, and ores now match their host stone (diorite, granite, etc.).

Combat & Survival: You're protected from instant death by massive damage, giving you time to heal. Snowballs become actual weapons. New potions include Bioluminescence, Displacement, Returning, Haste, and Levitation options.

Quality of Life: Player faces appear in chat. You retain some experience when dying. Night vision fades smoothly instead of blinking. Biome transitions display on-screen. Screenshots copy to clipboard automatically.
