How to Make Your Loyalty Trident Return to the Exact Slot You Threw It From

What the mod changes

Normally, a Loyalty trident flies back into the first empty slot in your hotbar or inventory, which can shuffle your layout mid-fight. With Better Trident Return installed, the trident remembers the slot it left from and tries to land back in that same slot. This keeps your muscle memory intact during combat.

Steps to use it

1. Put your Loyalty trident in the hotbar slot where you want it to live permanently.

2. Select that slot and throw the trident at a mob or block.

3. It will target the original slot first.

4. If that slot is occupied when the trident arrives (for example, you swapped to a sword and the trident's home slot now holds something else), the trident falls back to the first available slot instead.

Keeping the return reliable

• Avoid moving items into the trident's home slot while the trident is in flight.
• If you frequently swap weapons, keep a dedicated empty slot reserved for the trident.
• On servers, only the server needs the mod for this behavior; your client does not need it installed to benefit.

Once you build the habit of a fixed trident slot, thrown-and-returned tridents stop disrupting your hotbar order.
