Understanding Weeping Obsidian Trim

This trim causes your sword strikes to deal area damage in a 3×3 zone centered on your target. Instead of only the hit mob taking damage, nearby mobs suffer damage too.

Setup and Combat

1. Apply Weeping Obsidian trim at the smithing table

2. Strike any mob in a group

3. The target and surrounding mobs all take damage

Best Situations

• Mob farms: Clear multiple mobs per swing for faster farming
• Swarm encounters: Handle groups of weak mobs (like bees or silverfish) efficiently
• Dungeon clearing: Damage multiple enemies when they cluster together
• Enderman farms: Hit one Enderman and damage nearby ones simultaneously

Combat Strategy

Position yourself to maximize the 3×3 area effect. This trim is less effective against isolated mobs but excels when enemies group up. Combine with knockback enchantments to keep mobs within the damage radius longer.

Note: The area damage triggers on each successful hit, making this trim excellent for sustained combat against multiple enemies.
