Organize Quests Into a Quest Tree

Understanding the Quest Tree Structure

The quest tree is the visual map players see when they open their quest book. Better Questing automatically generates a basic tree, but you can customize it to guide players through your content in a logical order.

Linking Quests Together

In the quest editor, you can set prerequisites and connections between quests. Make earlier quests unlock later ones by configuring dependencies. This creates a progression path—players must complete foundational quests before accessing advanced challenges.

Arrange quests spatially within the tree editor to show relationships visually. Quests that branch from a single parent quest appear as separate paths, while linear progressions stack vertically.

Theming Your Tree

Customize the visual appearance of your quest book by selecting from available themes in the main menu. Options include different visual styles like the End theme or Nether theme. This doesn't change quest functionality but makes the experience more immersive and thematically consistent with your modpack's story or setting.
