Eat Melons Directly from Placed Blocks

Basic Block Eating

Place any melon block on the ground, then right-click it with an empty hand. Each right-click removes one quarter of the block and restores a portion of your hunger bar. Continue clicking until the block is fully consumed or disappears.

Speed and Efficiency

If you harvest the melon block and hold cut melon slices in your hand instead, you can eat them twice as fast as standard food items. This is useful when you need quick hunger restoration during combat or exploration.

Protecting Your Builds

If you've placed decorative melon blocks in your base and want to prevent accidental eating, use honeycomb on the block to wax it. Waxed melon blocks cannot be eaten by right-clicking, preserving your build while still allowing you to eat unwaxed melons elsewhere.

Melon Stairs and Slabs

You can also eat melon stairs and slabs using the same right-click method. These work identically to full blocks but offer more flexible building options for your farm or kitchen area.
