Selecting the Right Ammunition

Your crossbow's damage depends partly on the arrows you fire. Standard arrows deal baseline damage, but alternatives can improve your effectiveness.

Consider using enchanted arrows if available through other mods or vanilla enchanting. Some mods add specialized arrow types that interact with crossbow damage differently.

Upgrading to Higher Tiers

The most direct way to increase damage is crafting a better crossbow. Each tier—copper, gold, diamond, and netherite—represents a progression in raw power.

Diamond Crossbow offers a significant damage jump from lower tiers and is accessible once you've mined diamond ore. This is usually your first major damage upgrade.

Netherite Crossbow provides the ultimate damage ceiling. Upgrade your diamond crossbow by combining it with netherite ingots (following the recipe shown in your recipe viewer).

Enchantment Synergy

If your mod setup supports crossbow enchantments, apply damage-boosting enchantments to amplify your crossbow's effectiveness. Combine this with a high-tier crossbow for maximum impact against tough enemies.
