How to Fix Animations Not Showing Up After Installing the Mod
First Checks
If ghasts, squids, or wolves still look vanilla, the mod is likely not loading or is being overridden. Work through these steps in order.
1. Confirm the mod is actually enabled in your mod loader's mod list. A disabled or missing dependency means no animations at all.
2. Make sure you launched the correct profile. It is easy to start a vanilla or different modded instance by mistake.
3. Check for model conflicts. Other mods and resource packs that replace entity models (ghast, squid, or wolf) can override Better Animations Collection 2. Temporarily disable them and reload.
In-Game Troubleshooting
- Test in a fresh world to rule out world-specific issues.
- Spawn or find each affected mob and observe from the side, since some animations are subtle head-on.
- If only one mob is affected, the conflict is specific to that mob's model; isolate the other mod touching it.
- Resource packs rarely break these animations because they change textures, not models, but a pack bundling custom models can.
Once the conflicting mod or pack is removed, the wiggling tentacles, flowing squid motion, and wolf tail wag should return without any configuration.
