How to Use the Pack to Speed Up Anvil and Enchanting Decisions
Identify Before You Commit
Anvil work costs experience levels, and combining the wrong books wastes both levels and materials. The distinct covers in this pack let you confirm what you are holding before you place anything in the anvil slots.
Workflow at the Anvil
1. Before opening the anvil, lay your candidate books out in your inventory or a nearby chest and identify each one by its cover art and color family.
2. Decide which book is the base and which is the sacrifice, based on the enchantments you actually want on the final item.
3. Place the target item in the left anvil slot and the chosen book in the right slot.
4. Read the preview text carefully — it tells you the resulting enchantments and the level cost. The pack changes appearance only, so the preview is still your source of truth for cost and outcome.
5. If the preview is not what you expected, pull the book out and re-check the cover against your sorted storage. A mismatched color family is usually the sign you grabbed the wrong book.
At the Enchanting Table
- Carry only the books you intend to use, so the distinct covers make it obvious if a stray book slipped into your hotbar.
- When browsing a villager's trades, use the cover color to quickly judge whether the offered book fits the build you are working on.
- Keep a small chest of spare books near your anvil, sorted by color, so you never have to run back to main storage mid-project.
