How to Organize an Enchanted Book Storage Room Using Color Families

Plan Around Color, Not Alphabet

Because this pack assigns a consistent color tone to books based on their theme or intended use, your storage should be built around those color groups rather than alphabetical order or enchantment level. The goal is that a single glance tells you which chest holds what.

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Decide how many theme groups you actually use. Typical splits are combat/weapon enchants, armor and protection enchants, tool enchants, and utility or special-purpose books.

2. Assign one chest, barrel, or shulker box per group. Place them in a row or a wall so the groups sit side by side.

3. Sort your existing books by looking at the cover color, then drop each one into its matching container. Do a full pass before you start fine-tuning.

4. Inside each container, keep the same enchantment in the same slot every time. Because the covers are visually distinct, you can reserve a slot per enchantment and spot a gap instantly.

5. Label the outside of each container with an item frame holding a representative book, so the color coding continues even when the container is closed.

Keeping It Maintained

  • When you return from a mining trip or a raid, sort new books immediately rather than dumping them in a junk chest.
  • If a container overflows, split the group by level rather than mixing themes.
  • Re-check your layout after big enchanting sessions, since that is when mis-sorted books pile up.
