Understanding BASE Mod's Material System

What BASE Mod Does

BASE Mod solves a common problem in modpacks: duplicate items. When multiple mods add copper, you end up with seven different copper ingots that don't stack or craft together. BASE Mod provides a unified library that other mods can use, so there's only one copper ingot across your entire pack.

How Materials Are Generated

When you launch your game, BASE Mod automatically generates all materials it knows about. Each material type—ores, ingots, plates, gears, dusts, nuggets, and storage blocks—uses a single template texture with a color layer applied to it. This keeps file sizes small and load times fast.

What You'll See

Instead of hunting through multiple mod tabs for different copper sources, you'll find one unified copper ore, one copper ingot, and one copper storage block. If a mod in your pack supports BASE Mod integration, it will use these shared materials automatically.

Resource Packs

If you want to customize textures, you only need to edit the template files once—the color changes apply across all materials using that template.
