Craft and Smelt Metal Alloys

Understanding Alloy Crafting

Alloys combine two or more metals to create stronger or specialized materials. Base Metals Mod uses a two-step process: blend, then smelt.

Step-by-Step Alloy Creation

1. Gather metal powders by crushing ores with the Crack Hammer or smelting ore blocks normally.

2. Craft the alloy blend using a shapeless recipe. For example, combine copper powder and tin powder in any crafting grid arrangement to create a bronze blend.

3. Smelt the blend in a furnace to produce the final alloy ingot.

Common Alloys to Try

  • Bronze: Copper + Tin (as hard as iron)
  • Brass: Copper + Zinc (golden appearance)
  • Steel: Iron + Carbon
  • Invar: Iron + Nickel (harder than steel)
  • Electrum: Silver + Gold (highly enchantable)
  • Mithril: Specialized alloy effective against undead mobs

Once you have ingots, craft them into tools, armor, or decorative blocks just like you would with vanilla materials. Each alloy has unique properties—choose based on your needs.
