Process Volcanic Rock into Black Sand and Obsidian Shards

Volcanic Rock Processing (Terrestria Integration)

If you have Terrestria installed, the mod extends to volcanic rock. Process volcanic rock through the Basalt Crusher (with jaw liners) to produce Black Gravel instead of regular gravel.

Converting Black Gravel to Black Sand

Place a Grizzly underneath your Basalt Crusher, or feed Black Gravel into a Gravel Mill with mill rods. This converts Black Gravel into Black Sand, similar to the standard gravel workflow.

Obtaining Obsidian Shards

Black Gravel has a special property: it yields Obsidian Shards when processed or broken. These shards are crafting components used in various recipes throughout the mod. Collect them as a byproduct of your volcanic rock processing.

Practical Use

If you're in a Terrestria world with volcanic biomes, volcanic rock becomes a valuable resource. Process it for Black Sand (useful for building) and harvest Obsidian Shards as a bonus material for advanced crafting.
