Convert Basalt to Gravel and Sand

Setting Up the Basalt Crusher

The Basalt Crusher is your primary tool for processing excess Nether basalt. Place the Basalt Crusher block in your desired location, then insert jaw liners into it—these are consumable items that wear down as you crush basalt.

Basic Crushing Process

Feed basalt blocks into the Basalt Crusher. It will convert them into gravel over time. The jaw liners will gradually deplete and need replacement.

For a 1:1 gravel-to-sand conversion, place a Grizzly block directly underneath your Basalt Crusher. This automatically converts a portion of the output gravel into sand as it's produced, giving you a mixed yield without extra steps.

Optimizing Output

If you need pure gravel, run the Basalt Crusher without a Grizzly underneath. If you want more sand than gravel, you can take the gravel output and process it through a Gravel Mill separately using mill rods.

Keep spare jaw liners in your inventory—they deplete based on how much basalt you process, so stock up before large projects.
