How to Use Baritone to Mine Ores Automatically
The mine Command
Baritone can strip-mine and quarry for you using the #mine command. The basic form is #mine <block> where <block> is a block name or a shorthand. Typing #mine diamond_ore tells Baritone to locate and dig toward diamond ore, collecting everything in its path. You can also use #mine with no argument to mine whatever block you are currently looking at.
Choosing What to Mine
Baritone accepts block IDs and common aliases. For example, #mine iron_ore, #mine coal_ore, or #mine ancient_debris. If you are unsure of the exact name, look at the block and run #mine with no argument — Baritone will target that block type.
How the Mining Works
Baritone scans loaded chunks for the target block, calculates a path to it, and mines through intervening blocks. It places torches if configured, avoids lava where possible, and drops collected items into your inventory. Because it uses chunk caching (storing simplified chunk data in memory), it can plan efficiently across large areas.
Stopping and Adjusting
Type #stop to halt mining. If Baritone is digging somewhere dangerous or you want to restrict the area, use #sel to define a selection first, then mine within it. Remember to keep your pickaxe in your hotbar and enough inventory space — Baritone will not swap tools for you unless configured to do so.
