Getting Started with Ore Detection
How to Find Ores
Hold a detector tool in your main hand and right-click on any solid block to send out a sound wave. Listen for three loud bangs bouncing back—this tells you a target block is nearby. The pitch of the echo indicates direction, while volume and delay reveal distance.
Each tool searches for different materials. Start with the Coal tool for basic ores, then upgrade to Iron, Gold, or Diamond tools as you progress. The Void tool finds empty spaces, water, and lava instead.
Watch for particles that guide you toward your target. Detector tools have durability and break over time, so plan your mining trips accordingly. Focused versions offer narrower detection beams for easier targeting but require more resources to craft.
