Why Lapis Gear Is Weaker Than Iron

Lapis tools and armor are intentionally balanced below iron-tier equipment. They deal less damage per hit and break faster than iron tools, making them a stepping stone rather than an endgame choice.

Use lapis gear as:

• An early-game boost when you don't have iron yet
• A source of enchantment boosts at the enchanting table
• A way to get starter enchantments without spending experience

When to Upgrade

Once you have iron or diamond gear, lapis tools become less practical for mining and combat. However, keep a matching lapis piece nearby for your enchanting table setup—it's more valuable as an enchantment booster than as equipment to wear.

The mod encourages progression: use lapis to get started, then transition to better materials while keeping lapis pieces for enchantment support.
