Choosing Between Speed and Duplication

Assess Your Goal

Decide whether you need fast smelting or item multiplication. Speed suits normal gameplay; duplication suits long-term projects or AFK sessions.

Mode 1: Standard Smelting

Use Mode 1 for regular furnace work. It smelts one item per tick with no duplication, matching vanilla furnace efficiency but without fuel consumption.

Higher Modes: Duplication Trade-off

Modes 2 and above multiply output but increase smelting time per item. Mode 2 takes 4 ticks per item. The time increases significantly with each mode level.

Practical Strategy

For active play, stick with Mode 1. For passive income, set a higher mode and let it run while you do other tasks. You can always switch modes later by adjusting the furnace settings.

Balance: Consider your playstyle. If you're patient and want infinite resources, higher modes pay off. If you need materials now, Mode 1 is your friend.
