Fixing the Mod When It Swaps to the Wrong Tool or Not at All

Automatic swapping usually just works, but a few situations cause it to pick the wrong tool or fail to swap. Work through these checks in order.

The tool isn't in your hotbar

The mod only looks at your hotbar. If the correct tool is in your main inventory, in a backpack, or in a shulker box, it cannot swap to it. Move the tool into a hotbar slot and try again. This is the single most common cause of "the mod isn't working."

The feature is toggled off or you're sneaking

Press the toggle key (default: G) once to make sure swapping is enabled. Also check that you are not holding sneak while mining, because sneaking suppresses the swap by design. If you rebound the toggle key, confirm the new binding is not being triggered accidentally.

Multiple valid tools in the hotbar

When more than one hotbar tool can break the block, the mod picks one according to its own priority, which may not match your preference. If it consistently chooses a tool you don't want, remove the unwanted tool from the hotbar or reorder your slots so the preferred tool is found first.

Blocks with special rules

Some blocks are broken by non-tool items or by specific tools only, such as shears on wool or a hoe on certain plants. If the mod does not swap for these, it is because the block's own rules take precedence over generic tool matching.
