Finding and Using the Aurora

Auroral Mod's magic centers on Aurora Events—glowing lights that appear at night in cold snowy biomes like Frozen Peaks and Snowy Plains. When these lights appear, you can harness their power.

Build a Glacial Basin using stone, blue ice, and iron, then place it outside under open sky. During an Aurora Event, the basin collects Liquid Aura and transforms items placed inside it. Unrefined Shimmersteel becomes usable ingots through this process.

Collect Frozen Petals from Aurora Blooms—magical flowers that grow on snow during events and vanish by morning. Use these petals with a Cold Brewing Stand to brew potions without visiting the Nether.

Your Shimmersteel tools and armor slowly self-repair when Aurora Events occur, making them valuable long-term investments for surviving and thriving in the cold.
