Understand Why Armor Doesn't Scale with Higher Values

The Armor Limit Issue

Even with AttributeFix enabled and armor values set very high, you may notice damage reduction doesn't increase proportionally. This is not a bug—it's how Minecraft's combat formula works.

How Minecraft Calculates Armor

Minecraft's damage reduction formula has a built-in saturation point. After a certain armor value (roughly 30 in vanilla), additional armor provides diminishing returns. This is hardcoded into the combat system, not the attribute limits.

What AttributeFix Actually Does

AttributeFix removes the numeric cap on the armor attribute itself, allowing you to set values higher than vanilla allows. However, it does not change the combat formula that determines how much damage is actually reduced.

If You Need More Protection

To achieve higher effective damage reduction, you'll need a separate mod that modifies the combat formula itself. AttributeFix only handles attribute limits—it cannot rewrite how Minecraft calculates damage.
