Locating the Astral Observatory

Dragonflies spawn exclusively inside Astral Observatories, which generate on top of tall mountains. Search for distinctive stone structures with green domes and elevated walkways. These buildings are most common in mountainous biomes with steep terrain.

Preparing for Combat

Bring armor and weapons suited to aerial combat. Dragonflies are hostile flying mobs, so ranged weapons or spells work well. Stock up on healing items before entering the observatory, as multiple dragonflies may attack at once.

Collecting Dragonfly Wings

Defeat dragonflies throughout the observatory structure. Each dragonfly drops wings upon death—these are your primary crafting material for astral spells and building blocks like Lumine. Gather as many wings as you need for your desired spells.

Safety Tips

Use the observatory's stone platforms and bridges to your advantage. Stay on solid ground when possible to limit the dragonflies' mobility advantage. If overwhelmed, retreat to a lower level or exit the structure to reset the encounter.
