Master Polearms for Crowd Control
Leverage Reach Advantage
Polearms like Glaives, Halberds, and Spears give you significantly more reach than standard melee weapons. This extra distance lets you attack enemies before they can hit you back, making them ideal for fighting groups or dangerous single enemies.
Position Yourself Strategically
Use your extended reach to attack from the edges of enemy groups. Stand slightly back and swing in wide arcs to hit multiple mobs at once. The Halberd and Glaive are particularly effective for this since they can cleave through multiple targets.
Polearms work best when you have space to maneuver. In tight corridors or enclosed spaces, switch to shorter weapons for better control. Combine polearms with a Buckler rather than a full Shield to maintain mobility while keeping some defense. Practice kiting—moving backward while attacking—to maximize your reach advantage and minimize incoming damage from mobs that can't quite close the distance.
