Craft Your First Terraria Armor Set

Gather Your Materials

Before you can craft any Terraria armor, you need the base materials. Most sets require either iron, diamond, or netherite as your foundation, combined with mod-specific upgrade materials. Check Just Enough Items (JEI) to see the exact recipe for the set you want—this will show you both the base armor piece and the Terraria material needed.

Use the Smithing Table

Head to a smithing table and place your base armor piece in the left slot. Add the Terraria upgrade material in the right slot. The crafted armor will appear in the output slot with the same protection level as your base material but with the iconic Terraria appearance.

Equip and Enjoy

Once crafted, equip your new armor in your regular armor slots. If you prefer to keep your current protection and just want the cosmetic look, many players use cosmetic armor mods to display Terraria sets over their existing gear. This lets you enjoy the stunning custom models without sacrificing defense.
