How to Read the Armor Chroma HUD and Understand What Each Icon Means
Armor Chroma replaces the vanilla armor bar with icons that encode more information at a glance. Before you can use the mod for anything else, you need to know what you are looking at.
The basic icon
Each armor point is still drawn as a chestplate-shaped icon, and the number of icons still reflects your total armor value. What changes is the *appearance* of those icons: the mod tints and textures them based on the material of the armor piece providing that protection. So a full set of the same material reads as a uniform row, while a mixed set shows different icon styles side by side.
Enchantments and dye
When a piece of armor carries a protection-related enchantment, the corresponding icons gain a visual marker so you can tell enchanted armor from plain armor without opening your inventory. Leather armor is tinted to match the dye color you applied, so a red-dyed chestplate shows red icons rather than the default leather brown.
Reading it in practice
Glance at the row after taking a hit: if the icons are uniform and match your expected material, nothing has broken. If part of the row changes style, that piece has likely been swapped or destroyed. Hover your inventory to cross-check, since the HUD only summarizes what you are wearing.
