How to Extract Genes from Animals and Monsters

To begin genetic engineering, you need to extract genes from living creatures. Hunt or find animals and monsters in your world—each creature type carries unique genetic traits you can harvest.

When you defeat or interact with a creature, collect the genetic material it drops. This material serves as the raw ingredient for creating genetic fruits. Different mobs yield different gene types: passive animals provide survival traits like temperature resistance, while hostile mobs offer combat-focused abilities.

Creating Genetic Fruits

Once you have genetic material, use a crafting station to combine it into genetic fruits. These fruits are the delivery method for mutations—when eaten, they permanently alter your body with the extracted traits.

Store your genetic material carefully, as you'll need specific combinations to create fruits with the genes you want. Experiment with different creature types to discover which traits work best for your playstyle. Some genes complement each other better than others, so keep notes on successful combinations.
