Get Archaeology Banner Patterns from Wandering Traders

Find a Wandering Trader

Wandering traders spawn randomly in your world and move between locations. Look for the distinctive robed NPC with llamas.

Check Their Trades

Wandering traders offer random trades, and archaeology banner patterns are among their possible inventory. Right-click the trader to open their trade menu and browse available items.

Trade for Patterns

If a pattern appears in their trades, you'll need to provide the requested payment—typically emeralds. The exact cost varies by pattern and trader.

Advantages of This Method

Trading with wandering traders is faster than archaeology if you have emeralds available. It's also useful if you haven't found a specific pottery sherd yet.

Combine this method with crafting for the most efficient pattern collection.
