Craft Your First Archaeology Banner Pattern

Gather Your Materials

To create a banner pattern, you'll need three items:

• Shears (craft from iron ingots or find in loot)
• Pottery sherd (dig up from suspicious blocks during archaeology)
• Paper (craft from sugar cane)

All three items must be placed together in a crafting table.

Craft the Pattern

1. Open your crafting table

2. Place the shears, pottery sherd, and paper in any arrangement on the grid

3. Collect the resulting banner pattern from the output slot

Each pottery sherd type produces a unique pattern. Since there are 20 different sherds in the mod, you can create 20 distinct designs this way.

Use Your Pattern

Once crafted, treat your pattern like any vanilla banner pattern:

• Take it to a loom
• Place a banner and dye alongside the pattern
• Apply the design to your banner

You can reuse the same pattern multiple times on different banners, so craft once and decorate as much as you like.
