Boreal Lantern: Slowing and Extinguishing

The Boreal Lantern slows nearby mobs and players, and extinguishes fire on burning creatures. Craft it using catalysts: Cobweb, Snowball, Packed Ice, or Quartz. Check JEI for the exact recipe.

Love Lantern: Breeding Mobs

The Love Lantern makes nearby mobs fall in love, causing them to breed. Gather catalysts from: Diamond, Rabbit Foot, Golden Carrot, Beetroot, Life Lantern, or Honey Bottle.

Strategic Placement

For mob farms: Place a Love Lantern in your animal pen to encourage breeding without manually feeding animals. This creates a passive breeding system.

For mob control: Use the Boreal Lantern near dangerous areas or mob spawners to slow hostile mobs, giving you time to escape or fight effectively.

Combining Effects

You can use both lanterns together—place a Love Lantern in a breeding area and a Boreal Lantern nearby to slow mobs while they breed, preventing them from wandering away. This creates an efficient, controlled mob management system.
